Background Information

An ecosystem is a system that is grouped by interconnecting the elements that formed the interaction of a community or an organism.

A food chain is something to show and explain the eating pattern and cycle of living organisms in an ecosystem. a food chain also shows how animals gain energy from plants and their prey. Food chains are extremely helpful when it comes to learning about different ecosystem because it lets you know what the different predators are.

Then, the primary producers are the most abundant int the food chain. They help produce food and energy for the other categories

The Emerald Ash Borer is an invasive species that is originally from south east Asia. It first spread in Boulder toward Denver and is slowly making its way to Colorado Springs. This troublesome beetle is a dark to light green emerald color. Its body is also smaller than a penny, the larvae is usually placed in the crevice of a branch and are usually the ones to cause the problems by boring holes is the tree.

Invasive species are everywhere, and most of the time these foreign species have a negative impact. An example of a major invasive species affecting our ecosystem is the Emerald Ash Borer. This horrible beetle larva eats and bores through ash trees. This situation is similar to the Black Forest beetle boom that happened in March. This is similar because after the March blizzard beetles came to Black Forest and started eating the branches off the trees.

Action Plan

Step One: If you want to cut a tree down for fire wood, you need to measure the tree.

Step Two: If the tree is more than fifth teen inches or more call a professional to cut the tree down.

Step Three: Tell the professional what tree it is and the size of the tree

Step Four: You can move the tree yourself if the tree is less than Fourteen inches you can’t   move it yourself call someone

The EAB might adapt to survive these steps because even if you cut the trees it could still feed off the cut bark. Then,  it could still lay its larvae in the branches and bark if you  don’t  if you don’t dispose of the tree.
